A Personal Journey To Develop Assignment Writing Resources...
A Personal Journey....
I would not normally share that much about my personal story with strangers. There is only so much I enjoy disclosing my life journey to others, it is an unequal dynamic– give a whole load of personalinformation away and await judgement!
However,I have met many students, well over a few thousand, who repeated a version of
the situation that follows and I think it helps to establish credibility to
share some of my story in developing thismaterial.Origins....
When I was a student, I struggled to write, structure and communicate my ideason paper. This was an issue for many years. I was aware sometime between 1998 and 2003.
Irealised that memory words could be very effectiveby just reflecting on earlier experiences. There was also a similar phrase, ROYGBIV for the colours of the rainbow, although this was not for a specific process. The ‘R’ stands for ‘red’, the ‘o’
stands for orange and so on. I realised I had recalledthe order through the phraseeasily. I decided to try aversion of the mnemonic strategies as a way of remembering sequences required in paragraphs.
Developments....
Between 2002-2005 I realised I had to collect any sort of insight into process of academic writing if I was going to realistically pass a history degree. I set the task. I achieved a 2:1, which was quite against the expectations of many at the time.
A few years later (2012), I became aware that others found the challenge of essay writing and study skills difficult. I successfully applied for a grant of £10,000 with the National Lottery. The outcome was one of the first books in the series.
